Our Rotational Program provides a strong foundation for future insurance professionals. Jumpstart your path to leadership while transitioning from the classroom to life at Baldwin & Lyons!

This is an outstanding opportunity to gain exposure to critical insurance functions. This is a 20-month rotational program exploring the many aspects of our business and gaining first-hand knowledge in:

  • Market research and development
  • Organizational development
  • Product and underwriting support
  • Process improvement
  • Project management
  • Risk management and safety services
  • Customer service and experience
  • Data analytics
  • Operational effectiveness and strategy
  • Field and frontline management

Program Structure

Participants will complete a two-month assignment in our Claims Department and three six-month placements with our Loss Prevention & Safety Services, Underwriting and Sales teams. Each candidate will formally report to a manager within each specified department.

Training and Development

Participants will attend classes taught by senior leaders on topics such as insurance principles, enterprise controls, risk management and leadership development. Other leadership coursework will include classes on professional development, presentation delivery, business writing and management, as well as networking and professional development opportunities.

As part of the program, participants will be expected to successfully complete at least four CPCU courses over the duration of the program. All fees and costs associated with obtaining the CPCU designation will be covered by the company.

As a rotational program participant, specialized training and development classes ​will help jumpstart your insurance career.

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher
